A Hawker (street cart) in Singapore has become the world’s first street cart to be awarded a Michelin Star and a Bronze AIA Award.
The Hawker who was inspired by his trips to Hong Kong city came up within his secret recipe for spicing and cooking chicken.
All the owner will reveal is that the recipe includes garlic, soy sauce and ginger.
Selling over 100 entire chickens per day he small food cart was visited by undercover Michelin Star employees who surprised the owner with the award. The owner said he did not think Hawkers could even be considered for such an award.
The owner wishes to stay true to his origins and said he will not be increasing the cost of a meal. That’s just $2 local currency ($1.50 USD).
