Comments
When readers leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form. Additionally CPD (Crime Prevention Data) may be collected where applicable to help spam detection and to combat defamatory or otherwise illegal content from being posted.
After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Your comment will be publicly visible and may be indexed by search engines.
Your CPD will never be shared with any third party unless criminal activity is detected.
Media & Content
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors such as intelligence agencies or law enforcement may be able to download and extract any location data from images.
Users are solely liable for any media or content (in any form) uploaded. The user account details or where applicable CPD are recorded in connection with all media uploaded.
Contact forms
Submitted or abandoned contact forms are stored and archived in the interest of proving and improving our services.
Cookies

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except usernames cannot be changed). Website administrators can also see and remove user information. Users may request, edit or delete their data at anytime.
What rights you have over your data

CPD and ACPD
CPD (Crime Prevention Data) may collect: the visitor’s IP address, MAC address, IMEI number and browser user agent string (where applicable). CPD is only used and stored where suspicion of criminal or attempted criminal activity is detected. This includes but is not limited to: uploading of illegal content or media, attempting to access restricted and/or protected areas/data, posting defamatory information, hate speech or threats.
ACPD (Advanced Crime Prevention Data) is only collected when suspicion of serious breaches in security or criminal activity is detected. The information collected as part of ACPD is able to clearly identify the systems, locations, devices and individuals involved in real time. This information is shared with; cyber security teams, security enforcement and protection teams and law enforcement where appropriate.
If no breaches or criminal activity are present on human inspection, then CPD and ACPD is irreversibly deleted.

Our data is stored on encrypted servers and all access is highly restricted and monitored.
What data breach procedures we have in place
Data breaches are respond to immediately and any data loss is immediately analysed and reported to any relevant authorities. In the highly unlikely circumstances that any identifiable or useable user data is breached, the relevant users will be notified immediately.
Which third parties we receive data from
If you link your account to your social media profiles, we will receive your social media user names and URLs. We do not use this data in any way other than to link your user profile to your social media accounts. We do not receive your passwords and do not access your social media accounts.
What automated decision making and/or profiling occurs with user data
We scan all accounts, comments, forms, emails and media for Malware and Spam as well as Defamation, Hate Crimes or Threats and other illegal activities. This is for the safety of the public and the safety of our staff and users.
Industry regulatory disclosure requirements
Our advertisements are a combination of proprietary advertisements and third party advertisements. Third party advertisements may use cookies to deliver targeted advertisements. These maybe controlled in your browser settings and any advertisements using such technology will have a blue symbol in one of their corners linking to settings to disable such technologies at the users’ discretion.
